to bine daha-i gata
Verse 4
janaha puna puna so piya parikhana
so-i puje panca bana
raya campati o rasa gahaka
dasa gobinda bana
Verse 1
Pondering again and again on the fire of love in my mind, I have stayed awake through this wretched night. The passion-maddened elephant weeps in the grove, longing for you, O relisher of rasa.
Verse 2
What use, O jealous one, is the pride in your mind? You know well that Kanu belongs to you. He is like a raincloud whose form is made beautiful, as you, fair one, adorn it like lightning.
Verse 3
New sprouts, bangles, sandalwood paste, the decoration of lotus petals - none of it consoles him. Restless upon his bed, he rolls upon the ground; without you, his body burns.
Verse 4
Know again and again the anguish of that beloved - he alone truly worships the five flower arrows of Kamadeva. Rare indeed is such a connoisseur of rasa - so sings this servant, Govinda dasa.
