You are Jaipuria, so you can help me in completing such an institution in Jaipur also. Jaipur is visited by many Vaisnavas as a holy place of pilgrimage. Especially Gaudiya Vaisnavas go there to see the duplicate Vrindaban Deities such as Govindaji, Radha Damodaraji, etc. So I want to open a duplicate Krishna Balarama temple in Jaipur. I am sending separately copies of pictures of our Krishna Balarama temple in Vrindaban. Of course there is also Radha Krishna and Gaura Nitai. I wish that you have some land in Jaipur and to help us in constructing a duplicate temple like Vrindaban.

Jaipur is also known by the name Gupt Vrindavan, the hidden Vrindavan
In year 1515, Lord Sri Krishna Caitanya Mahaprabhu visited Vrindavan to relocate the divine pastime places of Lord Sri Krishna, which were lost in due course. He directed His disciples, the Goswamis of Vrindavan to excavate the pastime places and reveal the holy places to people in general. The Goswamis established multiple temples of Sri Radha Krishna and wrote numerous literatures to enlighten the general masses. Later when there was an attack by Mughals on Mathura and Vrindavan to demolish the temples, the Deities of Sri Radha Govinda, Sri Radha Gopinath, and Sri Radha Madan Mohan were moved to Jaipur by Maharaja Jai Singh. The Deities of Sri Radha Govinda and Sri Radha Gopinath are presently worshiped by the Gaudiya Vaishnavas with royal ceremonies in Jaipur and the deity of Sri Radha Madan Mohan is worshiped in Karauli being shifted by Maharaja Gopal Singh.
Being the residing place of the prominent Vrindavan deities, Jaipur is also known by the name Gupt Vrindavan, or Hidden Vrindavan. When Srila Prabhupada, the founder-acharya of the worldwide Hare Krishna Movement (aka ISKCON) visited the holy land of Jaipur, he remarked on the culture and piety of Jaipur. He desired to build a replica temple of Krishna Balaram Mandir of Vrindavan in the fortunate land of Jaipur.
Gupt Vrindavan Dham: Embracing Tradition with a New Name
In line with the vision of Srila Prabhupada and the rich spiritual legacy of Jaipur, the temple has been renamed to Gupt Vrindavan Dham. This name is more than just a rebranding; it is a reflection of Jaipur’s deep spiritual roots and its strong connection to Lord Krishna. Previously known by names such as Hare Krishna Movement Jaipur (HKM Jaipur), Hare Krishna Mandir, ISKCON Jagatpura, Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Mandir Jaipur, Hare Krishna Cultural Centre (HKCC), and Akshaya Patra Mandir Jaipur, the temple is now uniting under one common name: Gupt Vrindavan Dham. This name carries a deeper meaning and reflects the rich history and vision behind this spiritual center.
- Why Gupt Vrindavan? - Jaipur is often called Gupt Vrindavan, which means the "Hidden Vrindavan." This name comes from the fact that many of the sacred places related to Lord Krishna's Divine Pastimes were lost over time. When Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu visited Vrindavan in the 1500s, he sent his followers, the Six Goswamis, to rediscover these sacred sites. Later, during the Mughal invasions, many of the most important deities of Lord Krishna were moved to Jaipur for safekeeping. This is why Jaipur holds a unique and sacred place in the hearts of devotees, and the name Gupt Vrindavan Dham is the perfect way to honor that legacy.
- Srila Prabhupada’s Dream for Jaipur - The decision to rename the temple also honors the vision of Srila Prabhupada, the founder of ISKCON. He dreamed of building a temple in Jaipur that would reflect the beauty and devotion of Vrindavan. He wanted to create a place where people could come together to worship and learn about Lord Krishna, just like in Vrindavan. The name Gupt Vrindavan Dham is a tribute to Srila Prabhupada’s dream and the spiritual significance of Jaipur. Gupt Vrindavan Dham honors his divine vision and serves as a reminder of the sacred connection between Jaipur and Vrindavan.
- A Journey Through History - One of the most exciting things about Gupt Vrindavan Dham is the upcoming exhibition that will tell the incredible story of how the deities of Lord Krishna were hidden and later relocated to Jaipur. The exhibition will explain how Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu sent his followers to uncover the lost sacred places, and how the deities were moved for protection during the Mughal invasion. This historical journey adds even more meaning to the name Gupt Vrindavan Dham and will give visitors a deeper understanding of the temple’s spiritual importance.
- Bringing All the Sacred Deities Together - Jaipur is home to several temples that house the sacred deities of Lord Krishna, many of which were created by Bajranabh, the great-grandson of Lord Krishna. These deities are currently spread out across the city, but Gupt Vrindavan Dham will be the place where they all come together. Through ongoing efforts of excavation and awareness, all these sacred deities will be united in one place, making Gupt Vrindavan Dham a powerful spiritual center for everyone.
- A New Name for a New Era - In the end, the name Gupt Vrindavan Dham represents more than just a change. It symbolizes the connection between Jaipur and Vrindavan, honoring the city’s deep spiritual history and the vision of Srila Prabhupada. While the temple was known by many names in the past, Gupt Vrindavan Dham unites them all under one sacred name. This name will inspire future generations of devotees and make Jaipur a cherished place of worship and devotion, just like Vrindavan itself.
