gahana birahaka lagi
rajani pohaya-i jagi
Verse 2
karatahi tohari dheyana
to bine akula kana
Verse 3
sitala pita nicola
tohari bharame karu kora
Verse 4
so rasa parasa na pa-i
murachita dharani lota-i
Verse 5
manamaha madana-taranga
ghana ghana moda-i anga
Verse 6
kahatahi gada gada bhasa
na bujhala gobinda-dasa
Verse 1
On account of deep separation, she passes the whole night awake, waiting for it to dawn.
Verse 2
She does nothing but meditate upon you; without you she is utterly distraught.
Verse 3
Mistaking the cool yellow shawl for you, she gathers it into her lap and embraces it.
Verse 4
Not obtaining the touch of that love, she falls fainting, rolling upon the ground.
Verse 5
Within her mind, waves of passion again and again overwhelm her body.
Verse 6
She speaks only in a voice choked with feeling — Govinda Dasa could not fully convey it.
