suna suna e sakhi nibedana toya
maramaka bedana janasi moya
Verse 2
baithahe naha catura-gana majhi
aiche kahabi yaiche na hoya laja
Verse 3
sakhi-gana majhe caturi tohe jani
adara rakhi milayabi ani
Verse 4
aba biracaha tuhum so parabandha
kanuka yaiche hoya nirabandha
Verse 5
jibana rahite naha yadi paba
gobinda-dasa taba tuya yasa gaba
Verse 1
Listen, listen, O sakhi, to this plea of mine — you know the pain of my heart.
Verse 2
You sit among clever companions; speak in such a way that no shame comes of it.
Verse 3
Among the sakhis I know you to be the cleverest; guarding my honor, bring about our meeting.
Verse 4
Now devise such a plan by which union with Kanu may come about unobstructed.
Verse 5
If, while life still remains in me, I do not attain him — says Govinda dasa — then only shall I sing your glory.
