Papad Ke Hanuman Ji Temple, Jaipur

Nestled at the edge of the Aravalli hills, this temple offers a peaceful, forest-like sanctuary away from the city's hustle. The temple gets its unusual name from a unique local tradition where devotees offer papads (crispy lentil wafers) to Lord Hanuman to seek his blessings. Alongside its spiritual ambiance, the temple complex features a gaushala (cow shelter) and serves as a popular starting point for nature walks and trekking trails into the surrounding hills.
 

The temple’s history is rooted deeply in local folklore rather than royal records. According to legend, a poor devotee who couldn't afford expensive sweets offered a simple papad to Lord Hanuman with a pure heart. The deity accepted the humble offering, and the tradition was born. The deity of Lord Hanuman here is believed to be swayambhu (self-manifested), discovered by local saints and villagers who built a small shrine that grew into today's complex.
