History & About

Shri Radha Gopinath Ji Mandir is one of Jaipur’s important Lord Krishna temples, situated in the old Purani Basti area near Chandpole. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna as Gopinath Ji with Srimati Radharani. It holds special importance in the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition and is counted among Jaipur’s famous Vrindavan-linked temples, along with Govind Dev Ji and other historic Lord Krishna shrines.

The temple’s history is connected with Vrindavan and the Gaudiya Vaishnava lineage. The deity of Gopinath Ji is traditionally believed to have been rediscovered near Vanshivat in Vrindavan and later worshipped by Madhu Pandit Goswami. During the Mughal period, when several Vrindavan temples faced danger, the deity was shifted to Rajasthan for protection and later established in Jaipur.
