Tucked inside the narrow lanes of the Chandi ki Taksal area near Hawa Mahal, this temple draws devotees with something you won't find in most Hanuman temples - a naturally black idol of Lord Hanuman, carved from a single dark stone. Unlike the usual vermillion-coated orange idols seen across the country, this one has retained its original black hue for centuries. Locals believe that praying here helps overcome the ill effects of Shani (Saturn) and brings strength, protection, and peace during difficult times.
Believed to be around 1,000 years old, the temple's origins are rooted in legend. A sage is said to have seen Lord Hanuman in a dream, which led to the discovery of the black deity buried at this site. Over time, the shrine grew in significance. When Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II founded Jaipur and established the silver coin mint nearby, the temple gained further royal patronage. The modern structure was later developed in 1961 by Pandit Radhe Lal Choubey.

Darshan can be done very peacefully near the idol. It's a very old temple and very close to Hawa Mahal on way to delhi A must visit place if you are visiting Jaipur .
So beautiful and serene. You have ample space inside to sit and offer your prayers. There is seperate line for darshan and jhada. ...so there is no inconvenience as such. Night aarti is around 9pm... Wish to attend it someday at that time.
