Shri Jagdish Temple, Udaipur

Wonderful mandir दर्शन of krishna in the form of jagannath at udaipur. Marvellous incarnation on the outer walls of elephant, horse, sher and other deities. Must visit temple with local market in close vicinity at reasonable rate.

A very well known devotional site.. This is 375 year old temple with beautiful carvings over the temple, it has 4 smaller temples around the main one. The highlight and something i liked the most was the aarti and the bhajans.. This is done thrice a day, morning noon at around 12 20 and again in the evening. A must visit temple in Udaipur

Jagdish Temple also known as Jag Mandir or Jagannath Rai Temple is one of the most prominent landmarks of Udaipur. The temple is located in the very core of the interior area. Its a temple with a rich heritage of its own. Both locals and tourists have a great affinity towards this place. Situated on an approachable height the temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu in His Jagannath Rai form. Around the main temple there are other significance temples in the complex dedicated to Lord Ganesh, Lord Surya and Durga Mata. The complex is spacious and easily walkable even on crowded days. It is an unmissable point in your local sightseeing tour of Udaipur. Looking at the narrow streets and the rush that surrounds this place, tourists prefer local transport. There is however a parking area for vehicles situated at some distance from the main temple which may be utilised as per requirement.

Jagdish Temple is an absolute architectural masterpiece in the heart of Udaipur. The intricate stone carvings, beautifully sculpted pillars, and stunning temple structure reflect the incredible craftsmanship of ancient times. Every corner has such fine detailing that you can’t help but admire the artistry. The grand entrance and beautifully carved exterior make it even more impressive. A perfect blend of history, spirituality, and breathtaking architecture. Definitely a must-visit in Udaipur!

A beautiful blend of devotion, history and craftsmanship in the heart of Udaipur. 🛕✨ Jagdish Temple is one of those places in Udaipur that deserves to be experienced beyond just taking a quick photo and leaving. Located in the old city, close to the City Palace, the temple has a very distinctive presence and the beautifully carved stonework immediately catches your attention. The detailed carvings on the pillars, walls and shikhara are genuinely impressive, especially when you take a moment to look at them closely. The grand staircase leading up to the temple, the stone elephants at the entrance and the overall atmosphere make the approach itself feel special. What I personally liked most was the combination of living spirituality and historic architecture. It doesn't feel like a monument frozen in time; it is still an active place of worship with devotees visiting throughout the day. The peaceful yet lively surroundings give you a nice glimpse into the cultural side of old Udaipur. As someone who enjoys documenting places through photographs and videos, I found plenty of small architectural details here that are easy to miss if you are in a hurry.
