Verse 1
The young prince of Vraja returns victorious from the pasture grounds, his radiant attire arranged by his own mother.
Verse 2
Ahead of him walk countless herds of cattle, wealth beyond counting; behind him come the boys of Vraja, calling out joyfully, "Hai! Hai!"
Verse 3
Dressed alike and matched in age, all moving to the same rhythm, Balarama walks at the left side of the moon-like dark one.
Verse 4
A peacock feather glitters upon his crown, and jeweled earrings sway and sparkle at his ears.
Verse 5
Upon his head, the moon of that feather; upon his lips, the flute; as he walks the path he makes so many playful, teasing gestures.
Verse 6
A yellow silken cloth fastened at his waist, he walks with a slow, swaying gait that surpasses even the finest elephant's.
Verse 7
His jeweled anklets ring out with a tinkling sound — Govinda Dasa exclaims, again and again, "How blessed, how blessed is this sight!"
