Verse 1
Krishna, the very crown-jewel of cleverness -- seeing the waters of the Yamuna, he grows intoxicated with love; he fills the air with the call of his flute.
Verse 2
Playing joyfully again and again with his troop of friends, the king of dancers sports on; his heart set on some desire, he sets out along the forest path, leaving the company of the young children behind.
Verse 3
He fashions a boat, set with coral, pearls and jewels, strung here and there with rows of diamonds, gems fastened together in gold; as he turns it about, tiny bells jingle.
Verse 4
On the bank of the daughter of the sun, the Yamuna, the clever king of lovers rows his boat back and forth; Govinda Dasa says he sits in the boat while its little bells ring with every turn.
