Translation

Verse 1

O messenger, keep your tender words to yourself -- I will never again speak the name of the slayer of Madhu.

Verse 2

This slayer of Agha, of whom you speak, is fickle-minded; but I am one whose steadfastness reaches to the very edge of every horizon.

Verse 3

This wearer of the forest garland you speak of is deceitful by nature; but I am tender-hearted, and I guard the honour of my own family.

Verse 4

This Hari of yours is unrestrained in his jesting; but I remain ever bound to eternal, righteous conduct.
