Divine.... One word is enough.My visit to Shri Radha Shyamsundar was truly divine! ✨ The atmosphere was incredibly serene, and I felt a wonderful sense of peace there. 🙏 I went on a weekend, and even with a short wait of under 10 minutes, it was absolutely worth it. Maintenance good Beware of monkeys The Shri Radha Shyamsundar Ji Temple, Vrindavan is one of the most spiritually significant of the Seven Ancient Temples of Vrindavan. It is particularly famous for housing a deity that is said to have manifested directly from the heart of a great saint. ​1. The Divine Manifestation ​The history of this temple centers on Srila Shyamananda Pandit, one of the three great leaders of the post-Goswami era in Vrindavan. ​The Heart’s Desire: Shyamananda Pandit had a deep desire to worship a deity of Krishna. According to tradition, Srimati Radharani was so pleased with his humble service in the Nidhivan grove that she manifested the small deity of Shyamsundar directly from his own heart and presented it to him. ​The Golden Deity: Beside the original small Shyamsundar deity is a larger, beautiful golden deity of Krishna. This was later sent from Odisha by the devotees of Shyamananda Pandit to accompany the smaller one on the altar. ​2. The Unique Altar ​This temple is one of the few places where you can see several sets of deities on one grand altar. ​Along with the central Radha-Shyamsundar, you will find the deities of other great saints of that era, including those of Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana. ​The atmosphere here is often described as very intimate, as the temple has maintained much of its medieval charm despite being located near the busy main road. ​3. Connection to the "Anklet" Legend ​As you may recall from the history of the Shyamanand Prabhu Nupur Praptistan, this temple is the theological "home" of that miracle. ​The unique Bindu (dot) Tilak worn by the priests and followers of this temple is a direct reminder of the mark left on Shyamananda's forehead by Radharani's celestial anklet. ​Because of this connection, the temple is considered the headquarters of the Shyamanandi branch of Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

The pujaris and Goswami lines who run temple are very knowledge and usually know English and happy to share details of the deities of Srila Baladeva Vidyabhusana, Srila Syamananda pandita and Visvanatha Cakravarati. The temple forbids pictures but I was able to capture this when Srimati Radhika was dressed as cowherd boy on Gopastami. I hope this photo darshan and review gives the enthusiasm and eagerness for people who see it to go have darshana of these extremely extraordinary and beautiful deities of Vrindavan.

This temple is located in Seva Kunj, Vrindavana and is a very important place for Gaudiya Vaishbavas. The presiding deities here are Radha Shyamasundar (worshipped by Srila Baladeva Vidyabhushana), Lalla ji Laali ji (worshipped by Srila Shyamananda prabhu) and Radha Kunjbihari (worshiped by Srila Bhugarbha Goswami). It is said that the deity of Lalla ji manifested from the heart of Srimati Radharani, which was given to Srila Shyamananda prabhu by Her. Adjacent to the temple is the Samadhi Mandir of Srila Shhamananda prabhu. This place is also called as Nupura Prapti Sthana, where Shyamananda prabhu found the anklet of Srimati Radharani.

"Sri Radha-Syamasundara, the deities established and worshipped by gaudiya-vedanta-acarya Sri Baladeva Vidyabhusana, are very beautiful. Opposite the entrance door of the temple is the samadhi of Sri Syamananda Prabhu. Sri Baladeva Vidyabhusana was born in a village near the famous Remuna in Orissa. He studied grammar, rhetoric and logic in an academic village on the bank of Cilka-hrada. After this, he went to Mysore to study the Vedas. In Udupi, he deeply studied Madhva-bhasya along with Sankara-bhasya, Parijata-bhasya and other commentaries (bhasyas) on the Vedanta. After some time, he studied in Sri Dhama Jagannatha Puri the Sat-sandarbhas under Sri Radha-Damodara, a disciple of Sri Rasikananda Prabhu. At this time, he came to know of Sri Radha-Damodara’s profound scholarship and devout life and became his disciple. Later on, in Vrindavan, he studied Srimad-Bhagavatam and the books of the Gosvamis from the famous gaudiya rasikacarya Sri Visvanatha Cakravarti Thakur and, on his instruction, went to Jaipura. At the well-known Galta in Jaipura, he defeated the scholars of the Sri sampradaya and other opponents to the Gaudiya line, and established the deity of Sri Vijaya-gopala. To increase the faith of the local scholars, he composed Sri Govinda-bhasya on Brahma-sutra there, and re-installed Sri Radhaji beside Sri Govindadeva in the famous Govinda Temple. Some of the books he composed, which have enlarged the treasure house of Sri Gaudiya Vaisnava literature, are Govinda-bhasya, Siddhanta-ratnam, Vedanta-syamantaka, Prameya-ratnavali, Siddhanta-darpana and a commentary on Sat-sandarbha."
