Shri Govind Dev Ji Mandir, Vrindavan

Govind Dev Ji Temple, located in Vrindavan, Mathura district, is one of the most revered temples dedicated to Lord Krishna in his form as Govind Dev Ji. Built around 1590 by Raja Man Singh of Amber during the Mughal era, the temple originally had seven storeys, reflecting the spiritual richness of Braj Bhoomi. Over time, only three storeys remain, yet the temple retains its architectural beauty and devotional charm. Today, it continues to welcome pilgrims and visitors seeking spiritual experiences, cultural insight, and a glimpse into the region’s historical heritage.

The temple was built in 1590 during the reign of Emperor Akbar by Raja Man Singh of Amber. Tradition connects Shri Govind Dev Ji with Srila Rupa Goswami, who revealed the deity in Vrindavan. The original seven-storeyed temple was later damaged during Aurangzeb’s period, and the main deity was moved from Vrindavan for protection, eventually reaching Jaipur.
