Patotsav is the day when their Lordships Sri Sri Krishna Balaram appeared in the auspicious land of the Pink City, Jaipur, also known as Gupt Vrindavan.
2026: The 14th Patotsav Festival Celebration
In 2026, Gupt Vrindavan Dham is set to celebrate the 14th anniversary of the Lordships of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram in the temple. Over the years, the temple has been dedicated to uplifting social and cultural welfare activities through several initiatives, including educational and compassionate efforts towards society.
The occasion will be celebrated as Patotsav Mahotsav, starting on 20th April 2026, on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. This year, the celebration will be grander, spanning four days till 23rd April 2026. The celebration will take place in the Mandir grand hall, at Hare Krishna Marg, Jagatpura, Jaipur.

What is Patotsav?
Patotsav is a sacred annual festival in Hindu tradition that commemorates the anniversary of the installation (Prana Pratishtha) of deities in a temple. Moreover, the term Patotsav is derived from two Sanskrit words meaning:
Paat: Refers to the sacred seat, or singhasan, where the Lord is worshipped.
Utsav: Refers to the festival in remembrance of the Lord’s coming into the temple.
4-Day Rituals
Abhishekam: Divine bathing of the deities with pure water, honey, and curd.
Alankaram: Offering new dresses and precious ornaments to the Lord each day.
Arati: performing Hare Krishna kirtans and Aarti daily in a melodious way.
Pushpa Seva: Decorating the altar of the Lord with fresh flowers, containing different fragrances.
Bhagavat Katha: Reading of Vedic texts and scriptures in front of the Lord.
Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Jaipur Utsav
Gupt Vrindavan Dham organizes a grand festival on this divine day and celebrates the appearance of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram in Jaipur. The reception of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram was desired by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda Himself in the year 1975 when he visited Jaipur with his foreign disciples.
Patotsav 2026: A Divine and Auspicious Festival
Dates: Monday, 20th April - Thursday, 23rd April 2026
Patotsav is one of the biggest celebrations organized at Gupt Vrindavan Dham every year. The whole festival is celebrated for 5 days in series with multiple sacred events on each day.
There are cultural programs organized on the campus to enhance the divine pleasure of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram and amplify the festive mood of devotees.
Day 1 - Sri Sudarshan Puja & Havan (20th April, Monday)
This festivity marks the beginning of Patotsav and is performed on the Akshaya Tritiya Tithi. This is the 1st day of Patotsav and falls on Monday, 20 April this year. The grand Sudarshan Chakra established at the top of the temple is offered sacred Havan and is showered with fragrant flower petals.
There is an offering of unique Sudarshan Aarti, and the whole event is witnessed by the Deity of Srila Prabhupada, along with the performance of Yajna and Kirtans.

Day 3 - Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Shobha Yatra (22nd April, Wednesday)
This is organized on the 3rd day of Patotsav. Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Utsav Vigraha are adorned with gorgeous outfits and jewelry and are offered with fresh fragrant flower garlands. They are escorted in the City on the beautifully decorated Ratha. There is a grand procession organized with beautiful decorations of flowers, lighting, and festoons.
Melodious Musical Kirtans are offered to the Lord by devotees singing in harmonious voices. A 500-meter-long procession moves in the midst of the city, singing and dancing on the ecstatic chant of Hare Krishna Kirtans. The day culminates with an ear-pleasing narration of transcendental pastimes of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram and delicious Maha-Prasada distribution to all participants.

Day 4 - Maha-Abhishekam of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram (23rd April, Thursday)
The day of Maha-Abhisheka is the final (4th) day of the Patotsav, wherein the Deities are offered a grand Maha-Abhishekam with dozens of fruit juices, sacred waters,and fragrant flowers. The celebration is held in the evening hours of the day, and the devotees prepare diligently throughout the day for all the programs to happen smoothly.
All the devotees are personally invited along with their families to participate in the divine celebration and witness the Maha-Abhisheka of the Deities.
