niravadi mora mone gora rupa lagiache
bala sakhi ki kori upaya
na dekhile gora rupa vidariya jaya buka
parane bahire haite caya
Verse 2
kaha sakhi ki buddhi koriba
grhapati gurujana bhaya nahi mora mana
gora lagi parana tyajiba
saba sukha teyaginu kule jalanjali dinu
gora vinu ara nahi bhaya
Verse 3
ujhore jhoraye akhi, suno go marama sakhi
vasu ghosa ki koribe taya
Verse 1
My mind is always fixed on the form of Gora. Tell me, O friend, what shall I do? When I do not see Gora's form, my heart breaks, and my life wants to leave my body.
Verse 2
Tell me, friend, what plan shall I make? I no longer fear my husband or the elders of the family. For Gora I will give up my life. I have left all happiness behind and given up my family ties; nothing pleases me but Gora.

Tears stream from my eyes. Listen, my dearest friend: what can Vasu Ghosa do now?
