Verse 1
Obeisance, again and again, unto Krishna, the son of Vasudeva, the son of Devaki, the child of Nanda the cowherd king — Govinda, the giver of delight.
Verse 2
Obeisance to him whose navel bears a lotus; obeisance to him garlanded with lotuses; obeisance to him whose eyes are lotuses; obeisance to you whose feet are lotuses.
Verse 3
O Lord of the universe, let those calamities come again and again, for in encountering them we behold you — and that vision itself means never again beholding this repeated birth and death.
Verse 4
A person whose pride swells with high birth, opulence, learning, and beauty is never fit to address you, who are approached only by those who possess nothing.
Verse 5
For those who suffer in this material existence because of ignorance, desire, and fruitive action, this was composed, so that they might have something worthy of hearing and remembering — so some say.
Verse 6
O Lord of Madhu, may my mind's attachment, fixed on you alone without deviation, flow to you directly, just as the River Ganges' current flows on to the ocean.
