Shri Radha Damodar Mandir, Vrindavan

Establishment by Srila Jiva Goswami: The Radha Damodar temple was established in 1542 CE by Srila Jiva Goswami, one of the prominent Six Goswamis of Vrindavan. The primary deity of Radha Damodar was hand-carved and gifted to him by his guru and uncle, Srila Rupa Goswami. The Govardhan Shila Legend: The Govardhan Shila enshrined here was gifted directly to Srila Sanatana Goswami by Lord Krishna. Sanatana Goswami used to perform a daily 21-kilometer parikrama (circumambulation) of Govardhan Hill. When he grew too old and frail, Krishna appeared as a cowherd boy, gave him this stone imprinted with his footprint and cow hoof-mark, and instructed him that circumambulating this Shila four times equals a complete parikrama of the entire Govardhan Hill. To this day, devotees perform parikrama around this temple. Literary & Spiritual Heart of Gaudiya Vaishnavism: During the 16th and 17th centuries, the temple housed the invaluable original manuscripts and library of the Six Goswamis. Acaryas such as Krishna Dasa Kaviraja Goswami (author of Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita) and Baladeva Vidyabhushana (Govinda Bhashya) performed their sadhana and literary works on these grounds.

Shri Radha Damodar Temple is a very beautiful temple of Vrindavan, It is one of the 'Saptadevalayas' (seven ancient temples) of Vrindavan. ​In this temple, that sacred Govardhan Shila is installed, which Lord Shri Krishna Himself gave to Sanatana Goswami Ji. It is believed that performing 4 parikramas of this Shila in this temple premises gives equal punya to performing the parikrama of the entire Govardhan Mountain. ​The main deity of the temple is 'Shri Radha Damodar', which Srila Rupa Goswami carved with his own hands and gifted to his disciple Jiva Goswami. ​In this temple premises are located the sacred samadhis of great saints of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition like Srila Rupa Goswami, Srila Jiva Goswami and Srila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami. ​If you come to Vrindavan, definitely include this temple in your trip.

Firstly i have to tell you that this place is full of positivity. Lord Krishna touched this rock. It is said that taking 4 circumambulations (parikramas) around the temple equals the spiritual reward of completing a 21-kilometer Govardhan Hill parikrama. Lord Krishna touched this rock. You can reach here by any e-rickshaw from any point in Vrindavan. It is 5-minute walking distance from Keshi Ghat. Radha Shyamsundar Mandir is just 100m away from here. From ISKCON, it takes around 10-15 minutes with an e-rickshaw to reach here who usually charge 30-50 rupees.

Here it's so beautiful the radha damodar mandir is very nice and beautiful quality time of mine was there and I got the people who visited there are very happy and they chanting radha radha which is really very good and outside little bit careful because of monkey who play there and not too much gathering there and inside the temple vajan gayan is also there so it's beautiful

Perform 5 parikramas plz equal to one Govardhannathji parikrama. Though it's on the internet saying 4 . My guruji from isckon said 5. It's a blessing to have the beautiful darshan here. Darshan of samadhis at the back of temple. Kirtan on other side. You can take e riksha 20 per seat from Banke Bihari..walk a little through market and catch one riksha. While return darshan of Radha Shyamsundar can be done. And further Radha Ramanji. Hidden treasures. Seek the blessings. Last 6 yrs were spent in India by Srila Prabhupada here only. Shri jiva goswamis found 3 vigraha ( murti) of Shreemati Radharani and Krushna at 3 different places. Also Giriraj sheela is here to perform the parikrama.
