Srila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami
Srila Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami was a great Gaudiya Vaishnava acharya and scholar. Born in Jhamatpur, Bardhaman district of West Bengal, he dedicated his life to the service of Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Following a divine vision from Lord Nityananda Prabhu, Srila Krishnadasa moved to Vrindavan, where he became a disciple of Srila Raghunatha Dasa Goswami. Under his guidance, he authored the Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita, the definitive biography of Lord Chaitanya, capturing His teachings and pastimes. Additionally, he composed the Govinda-lilamrita, detailing Lord Krishna's daily activities. Recognized for his poetic mastery, he was honored with the title 'Kaviraja' (king of poets) by Srila Jiva Goswami. His samadhi is located at the Radha-Damodar Temple in Vrindavan, and his works continue to illuminate the path of devotion for ISKCON devotees worldwide.
