Verse 1
I glorify Hari, whose gait shames even the most intoxicated elephant, whose teeth put to shame the beautiful, fragrant jasmine bud, whose radiance destroys the pride of countless Kamadevas in form, and whose charming mouth blossoms with a lovely, cluster-like smile.
Verse 2
...whose flute, once made to speak, steals away all joy elsewhere; whose lotus eyes dance with the exhilaration of love; who is devoted to sport that makes the flood of divine mellows expand; who is the true refuge of people devoted to life's highest goal.
Verse 3
...who adorns the banks of the Yamuna with his very footsteps; whose lovely feet are worshiped even by the lords of the universe; whose soft throat glows, brightened by a pendant necklace; who is made even more charming by the ornamental mark upon it.
Verse 4
...whose crest is set with a swaying, flickering peacock feather; whose arm undertook the lifting of the king of mountains; who made the very hood of the serpent king his dancing stage; whose heart delights in sporting within the caves of the earth.
Verse 5
...who bestows glory upon his tender-hearted friends; whose venerable accounts of pastimes shake off the influence of Kali; whose arms hold a strength the whole world finds impossible to conquer; who stays ever close to Balarama, that cowherd child of great strength.
Verse 6
...who is a wish-fulfilling tree for the desires of saintly well-wishers; who is a fresh flower-arrow for the young women of Vraja; who is most expert in protecting all who take shelter of him; and who is a fierce, blazing sun to the stone-hearted multitude of the wicked.
Verse 7
...whose lotus hand holds a gathered bouquet of flowers; who is a lion to the maddened elephant-demon Baka; whose soft flute-notes captivate even the herds of does; whose very throat rings out, bright with the sweet-voiced sound of song.
Verse 8
...who in battle cuts down the wicked while blessing the pious; who is the very source of the creeping vine of auspicious fame for all people; who drinks up the ocean of material existence as if it were a single jar; and whose devotees remain untouched by entanglement even in the modes of material nature.
Verse 9
...who is resplendent with divine qualities beyond all counting; whose excellent face is a very twin to the rays of a smile; who is a thundercloud that split apart the proud demon Vrishasura; and whose very being consists of playful pastimes performed in a dazzling variety of guises.
Verse 10
...who, like the full moon, destroys the darkness born of illusion; who plunged the entire race of demon kings into distress; that very delight of his own family — I bow down here to Hari.
Verse 11
I glorify Hari, upon whose chest the goddess of fortune herself radiantly resides, who is resplendent with a garland that is a very abode for humming bees, and who is like the most auspicious sandalwood paste that blesses womankind with supreme auspiciousness.
