Verse 1
He, the very essence of divine mellow, the enemy of demons, possessed of beautiful thighs, moved swiftly; he, who is the sword that cuts the bonds of material existence, desiring to sport passionately in that rasa dance.
Verse 2
That radiant thief of hearts, resplendent among all moving and unmoving beings, though his conduct is like a thief's, delighted them at once and for a long time, showering his beauty about.
Verse 3
Radha, of steady intelligence, worships and embraces him who bears the mountains, who is fixed firm as the burden-bearer of the mountains, the checker of grief, the foremost bearer of every burden.
Verse 4
Did not Lord Brahma, tears streaming down his face, recite many prayers, trying to pacify Lord Krsna, the killer of Sakatasura?
Verse 5
In a forest resounding with bees maddened by heavy fragrance, pervaded by the glow of dawn, nourishing and adorning the pathway, delighting the beauty of the Yamuna's rippling waves, his playful passion at once intensified in that secluded place, cooled and gladdened by gentle breezes -- to that certain god of serpent-graceful arms, ever filled with rasa, I bow down in joy.
Verse 6
In the rasa dance, wearing at his chest a garland like fresh lotuses gathered by bees, adorned with a peacock-feather ornament and a necklace gleaming amid rich, pure splendor, for the sake of victory -- Gopala, steady of soul, his broad and beneficial laughter spreading along every path, ever fresh, his strength gathering about him moment by moment, beheld the arena and shone forth.
Verse 7
That cowherd boy of sweet, ever-radiant speech, generous as time itself, today performs wondrous feats with his mouthful of butter, the cherished child of the cowherds.
Verse 8
Steady as the bearer of mountains, free from fear, he shines bound by a rope at the waist, delighting in the mellow of worshipping Radha.
Verse 9
He, sporting in the wrestling arena, blossoming with delight, ever growing in joy, bearing away fatigue, satisfied, the very deity of the gopis' mellow of love.
Verse 10
Of auspicious essence, radiant as the finest gem, dense with splendor like moonstone's light, borne along swiftly on the great tide of the river of rasa.
Verse 11
Bearing the flow of rasa, the essence of amorous gesture, eager and full of longing -- Balarama, tolerant of pride and the laughter that slays Cupid's own pride.
Verse 12
With hands resoundingly clapping, eager and guileless, his face radiant, his brow lovely, the destroyer of sin, that cowherd boy, skillful in every deed, dark as the finest raincloud, his neck graceful and splendid, his mind restless with the intoxication of love, clad in yellow garments, of pure and radiant character -- I choose and praise that excellent, mighty son of Vasudeva, together with Balarama.
