What is the International Gita Olympiad?

The International Gita Olympiad (IGO) is an educational and value-based initiative designed to help students, youth, families, and spiritual seekers understand the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
This Olympiad focuses on studying Chapters 13–18, which reveal the essence of Gyan (Knowledge), Bhakti (Devotion), Karma (Action), Gunas (Modes), and the Ultimate Goal of Life.

Important Dates: 

Registration Start: Immediately on GVD

Last Date to Register: 20th March 2026

Exam Date: 19th April 2026

Result Announcement: 3rd May 2026 

Prize Distribution Ceremony (PDC): 24th May 2026

What is the International Gita Olympiad?

Core Goals of the International Gita Olympiad 1. To Preserve and Spread Gita Wisdom Introduce students and families to the life-changing teachings of the Bhagavad Gita in a systematic and accessible way. 2. To Build Strong Character & Values Encourage qualities like discipline, honesty, compassion, and responsibility through the principles explained in Chapters 13–18. 3. To Provide a Healthy Alternative to Modern Challenges The Gita offers solutions to anxiety, stress, anger, addiction, and confusion—helping youth live a balanced and purposeful life. 4. To Empower Youth With Timeless Knowledge Develop clarity in decision-making, confidence in challenges, emotional stability, and leadership qualities. 5. To Unite Students Globally Create a community of young learners worldwide who are inspired by Gita wisdom. 6. To Encourage Daily Spiritual Study Build a habit of reading scripture, listening to lectures, and living a spiritually enriched lifestyle.

International Olympiad Syllabus

Guidelines to follow

  • Participants who were winners in previous years are not eligible to win prizes in IGO 2026. However, they are allowed to participate in the IGO 2026 examination.
