The day commemorates the installation anniversary of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram at Gupt Vrindavan Dham, which is celebrated annually with joyous and gorgeous festivities.

Patotsav is the day when their Lordships Sri Sri Krishna Balaram appeared in the auspicious land of Pink City, Jaipur, also known by the name Gupt Vrindavan.

The year 2025 marks the 13th Patotsav Festival

In 2025, Gupt Vrindavan Dham celebrates 13 years since the installation of Their Lordships, Sri Sri Krishna Balaram. Over the years, the temple has remained dedicated to spiritual and social welfare through various initiatives, including educational programs and humanitarian efforts.

Patotsav is an annual festival observed in the Chaitra month (April–May) to commemorate the appearance of the Deities in the temple. This year, the grand celebration spans five days, from 30 April to 04 May 2025, at Hare Krishna Marg, Jagatpura, Jaipur.

🌺 What is Patotsav?

Patotsav is a sacred annual festival in Hindu tradition that commemorates the anniversary of the installation (Prana Pratishtha) of deities in a temple.

The term is derived from two Sanskrit words:

  • Paat: the ceremonial enthronement of the deity on the Sinhasan (altar)
  • Utsav: meaning festival or joyous celebration

Rituals and Activities:

  • Abhishekam – ceremonial bathing of the Deities
  • Alankaram – adorning with beautiful garments and ornaments
  • Arati – offering of lamps with melodious kirtans
  • Pushpa Seva – floral offerings
  • Bhagavat Katha – spiritual discourses for enlightenment

Installation of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram at Gupt Vrindavan Dham

Gupt Vrindavan Dham organizes a grand festival on this divine day and celebrates the appearance of Sri Sir Krishna Balaram in Jaipur. The reception of Sri Sir Krishna Balaram was desired by His Divine Grace Swami Srila Prabhupada Himself in the year 1975 when he visited Jaipur with his foreign disciples.

Patotsav 2025 – A 5-Day Grand Festival

Dates: Wednesday, 30 April – Sunday, 4 May 2025

Patotsav is one of the biggest celebration organized at Gupt Vrindavan Dham every year. The whole festival is celebrated for 5 days in series with multiple sacred events on each day.

There are cultural programs organized in the campus to enhance the divine pleasure of Sri Sri Krishna Balram and amplify the festive mood of devotees.

Day 1 – Sri Sudarshan Puja & Havan (30th April, Wednesday)

Day 1 Patotsav

This festivity marks the beginning of Patotsav and is performed on the Akshay Tritiya Tithi. This is the 1st day of Patotsav and is falling on Wednesday, 30th April this year. The grand Sudarshan Cakra established at the top of the temple is offered sacred Havan and is showered with fragrant flower petals.

There is offering of unique Sudarshan Aarti and the whole event is witnessed by the Deity of Srila Prabhupada along with performance of Yajna and Kirtans.

Day 2 – Cultural Celebration — Dance, Drama & much more! (1st May, Thursday)

A vibrant day of artistic devotion and traditional storytelling.

  • Children’s Classical Dance & Dashavatar Show
  • Folk Drama: Kal Tak & Drama on Srila Prabhupada’s Jaipur Visit

🕖 Evening program starts at 6:45 PM and concludes by 9:30 PM

Day 3 – Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Shobha Yatra (2nd May, Friday)

Day 3 Patotsav

This is organized on the 3rd day of Patotsav. Sri Sri Krishna Balaram Utsav Vigraha are adorned with gorgeous outfits and jewelry and are offered fresh fragrant flower garlands. They are escorted in the City on the beautifully decorated Ratha. There is grand procession organized with beautiful decorations of flowers, lightings and festoons.

Melodious Musical Kirtans are offered to the Lord by devotees singing in harmonious voices. A 500-meter-long procession moves in the midst of the city, singing and dancing on the ecstatic chant of Hare Krishna Kirtans. The day culminates with an ear-pleasing narration of transcendental pastimes of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram and delicious Maha-Prasada distribution to all participants.

Day 4 – Bhajan Sandhya (3rd May, Saturday)

A devotional evening of song, community, and shared aspirations.

Day 5 – Maha-Abhishekam of Sri Sri Krishna Balaram (4th May, Sunday)

Day 5 Patotsav

The day of Maha-Abhisheka is the final (5th) day of the Patotsav wherein the Deities are offered grand Maha-Abhishekam with dozens of fruit juices, sacred waters and fragrant flowers. The celebration is held in the evening hours of the day and the devotees prepare diligently throughout the day for all the programs to happen smoothly.

All the devotees are personally invited along with their families to participate in the divine celebration and witness the Maha-Abhisheka of the Deities. Every participant is surcharged with the devotional vibrations and immense blessings of the Lord. Participate whole heartedly in the Patotsav Festival this year with your friends and family members.
