In the Ramayana Lord Hanuman emerges as the primary character because he unites supreme devotion with great heroic strength and profound humbleness. Worshippers throughout India show great reverence to Hanuman through his names Vajrangbali commonly known as Bajrangbali, Anjaneya and Maruti because of his remarkable characteristics and his sincere devotion to Lord Rama

Hanuman obtained his birth through Anjana and Kesari and believers consider him an to be incarnation of Lord Shiva while he received this divine assignment to help the Supreme Lord undertake His purpose in human form. The combination of his unlimited power and intellectual brilliance and unshakable devotion has made Hanuman stand as both religious deity and eternal symbol of dedication in service (seva) and devotion (bhakti).

The appearance day of divine personality  Lord Hanuman is celebrated as Hanuman Jayanti. It is an occasion beyond religious festivities it serves to pay homage to Hanuman's birth alongside commemorating his unbroken devotion to Lord Ramachandra. This auspicious day occurs every year on the Purnima (full moon day) of the Hindu lunar month of Chaitra (when the month corresponds with either March or April). The day celebrates its religious and cultural value throughout the nation.
The 2025 celebration of Hanuman Jayanti falls on 12th April when Purnima Tithi spans from 3:21 AM on April 12 until 5:51 AM on April 13.

Celebrations across the country

Different parts of the country observe Hanuman Jayanti through distinctive traditional practices.

People in North Indian regions hold their celebrations on Chaitra Purnima through large-scale processions accompanied by kirtans and recitations of the Sundara Kanda section from the Ramayana.
The religious celebrations in Maharashtra last a total of 41 days starting from the full moon day in Chaitra month with daily temple ceremonies and home devotional observances.
The populations of Odisha observes Hanuman Jayanti alongside Pana Sankranti which represents their traditional New Year 
South India celebrates Hanuman Jayanti during the month of Margazhi which corresponds to December through January The southern region of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka observe this festival during the same period as their local Vaishnava rituals.

People celebrate Hanuman Jayanti by practicing introspection as they strengthen their ties to spirituality while raising their energy higher. Devotees practice numerous spiritual activities which help both themselves and Lord Hanuman's blessings.

Hanuman Jayanti Seva
